Do Yoga in Paris (formerly Yogateau) is a publication for people who view yoga as a practice and an art de vivre, something the French know a little something about.
Highlights:
Yoga and wellbeing retreat recommendations in France and Europe
Writing that takes a contemporary approach to ancient teachings, emphasizing knowledge, curiosity and—especially—pleasure over self-abnegation
Drill-downs on yoga subjects seldom broached in a one-hour asana class, inside peeks into Paris yoga studio culture etc
I don’t take sides in the yoga authenticity debate. I prefer to underline yoga’s modernity and usefulness by showing how #parisyogalife is accessible to anyone, at any time, regardless of tradition or location.
Where does my #doyogainparis expertise come from?
Do Yoga in Paris was founded by me,
. I’m an art director, graphic/visual designer, artist and yoga teacher based in Paris, France.About Martine
My design portfolio is here if you’d like to take a look (and possible work with me!) but chances are you’re more interested in my yoga bonafides so voilà:
I’ve been doing yoga regularly for 20+ years
I’ve tried everything: Hatha, Bikram (don’t @ me, it was the late 90s!), Ashtanga, Yin, Restorative, Vinyasa in all of its guises, Jivamukti, Kundalini, Iyengar, Forrest…
I studied meditation with Sally Kempton, Harshada Wagner and was initiated into Vedic Meditation by Nicho Plowman in 2016
I’m also a certified yoga teacher (200-hr and 100-hr in Anusara Yoga)
…and I’ve taught asana and philosophy in yoga studios in NYC and Paris
As far as Paris goes, I’ve known the city like the back of my hand since I was a 16 year old lycéenne, running from school to ballet classes to double features in the quartier latin.
