Wake Up and Revitalise Your Spring
This week, 3 ways to reinforce your confidence and amplify your vitality
You can wake up to yoga, sure, but what is more likely to happen is that yoga will awaken you: it’ll open your eyes and expand your awareness (unitard optional.)
This is the time of year when many things awaken: the good (peonies!), the bad (pollen and allergies), and the frankly horrifying (zombie cicadas). Favoring mind-body practices that make you feel anchored can be a great support in traversing this seasonal transition with more aplomb:
Find ways to engage Mula Bandha for more stability
Try self-massage and sound meditation for more connection
Shore up your foundation to increase strength and sensitivity
Flowers depend on vigorous stalks to expand their flowers and leaves, pollen is necessary for avocados, and as creepy as a cicada apocalypse might sound, we need them to balance the global supply of sesame seeds, and more importantly because:
“They contribute greatly to plant life. Carcasses are going to litter the ground and be absorbed. Those nutrients will be returned to the soil and utilized by soil microbes and plants.
By supporting the plant life, cicadas are supporting the pollinators. If they're supporting the pollinators, they're supporting the creatures that eat those fruits and vegetables, and they're supporting us. We are all connected.” —Sammy Ramsey, assistant professor of Entomology, University of Colorado, Boulder
We are all connected 💚
What follows are three yoga workshops designed to hasten your May awakening by focusing on a solid base, an open heart, a warm smile, good vibes and bouncy feet.
Ancrage et Ouverture du Coeur (Paris)
with Ariane Guitton at Yoga Paris (aka Gérard Arnaud Yoga)
This all-levels workshop combines Kundalini and Yin yoga and builds a sense of grounding through Mula Bandha activation and heart-opening. The benefits of these two complementary practice are numerous: physical, emotional and psychological.
Expect Springtime flows, a mix of dynamic repeated movements and slow mindful ones, kriyas as well as meditation.
Plan to practice on an empty stomach (do not eat 2 hours prior to event.) This workshop is not suitable for pregnant women.

Trouver Nos Racines (Paris)

Proper postural adjustment begins at the feet, and depends as much on alignment as on the search for balance and the rhythm of movement.
This workshop will be an opportunity to focus on the feet. During two hours, your feet will play with different supports and materials to make them stronger and more dynamic and at the same time render them more sensitive. Camilla and Hélène will bring their combined therapeutic expertise in rolfing, micro-osteopathy, Pilates and postural stretching to better underpin your foundation.
