Yoga for Different Inner Weather Systems
Three Springtime workshops in Paris to suit various temperaments and temperatures
Spring has sprung, and its schizophrenic energy is everywhere in Paris: one minute, you’re stripping off clothing at a café terrasse; the next, you’re cupping a mug of tea watching hail bounce off the windowsill.
This same energy is reflected in the yoga workshop offerings all over the city right now. Some studios are jumping hard into arm balances and backbends, while others are still clinging to warm blankets and supported poses. How do we navigate this crazy time?
One way to cope is to check in with our personal meteorological systems to ascertain what our needs are. Sunny with a chance of dynamic movement? Scattered showers interspersed with tranquillity? Do we want an in-depth postural excavation or would we prefer to slowly spelunk our way around our inner landscapes? And do we even need to choose? Can we do both without getting blown off course?
Below, some ideas for your practice no matter what shape or temperature or weather pattern it takes. If you only have time for a session at home, gift yourself this FREE 20-minute Yoga Nidra which is YouTube’s #1 most watched meditation video with 12 million (yes, million!) views.
