Yoga & Wellness on Demand with Paris’ Le Tigre
Take your yoga practice on holiday with Le Tigre’s revamped digital class platform
Taking your yoga on vacation is so much easier in the 21st century; all you need is a smartphone and an internet connection or 4G with an unlimited data plan.
Unless you’re an Ashtangi with a regular practice (and in all my years of studying Ashtanga, I still do not know the Primary Series by heart! —Martine) a digital platform will help guide and inspire you to continue doing yoga during your holiday. You can even use the self-practice time to focus on a single pose or class of poses, heal an injury, do actual sun salutations in the 🌞, explore new styles and teachers.
Digital Downdog
There are quite a few ways to access yoga online from websites to apps, from archived classes to live ones over Zoom or social media channels. When you factor in price, teacher selection, range of levels or class styles, the process of selecting the subscription that will best meet your needs can quickly become overwhelming. And they say that yoga is supposed to relax you 😂
Le Tigre Yoga & Wellness Online
One of the platforms we’ve enjoyed using while on recent holiday is the one relaunched by Le Tigre. Its expanded menu of classes in both French and English makes Le Tigre a one-stop shop for yoga, meditation and other fitness practices.

Le Tigre: Evolution
Elodie Garamond, founder of Paris’ deluxe Le Tigre studios, spent the better part of the Covid-19 crisis doing yoga at home (like the rest of us) while trying to keep her yoga business afloat.
She doubled down on her popular podcast “Les Conversations du Tigre,” wrote Yoga: Un Art de Vivre and most importantly, co-created along with Qee’s Véronique Maillet the UPY, an organization that brings together all of the actors in the French yoga ecosystem: teachers, wellness therapists, studio and retreat venue owners, clothing and accessories brands and shops. The union’s goal is to advocate and campaign for industry recognition and better representation in government. What Elodie created and sustained over 10 years would be enough for any one single person to have accomplished, never mind trying to keep all those balls in the air during a complete global shut-down.
The pandemic forced Elodie to regroup and pivot from brick-and-mortar yoga studios to a digital hub for yoga classes. Fortunately this transition from one business model to another was made easier by a little foresight: Le Tigre’s acquisition in 2019 of YogaPlay, an online yoga platform founded by one of the studio’s very own teachers, Anne Vandewalle.
With the digital infrastructure already in place and an enormous network of contacts from which to draw, Elodie was able to expand the offerings online. Le Tigre is now not only a fully tricked-out resource for yoga and meditation, it is also a destination for HIIT, Pilates, Barre, Kalon Movement, and other fitness modalities in both French and English.
So while the physical studios may be gone, the spirit of Le Tigre lives on in its new incarnation 🙏
