Summer Solstice Yoga: Marseille, Bordeaux, Paris
Flow into the summer season on the longest day of the year
It’s easy to be jaded about June 21st events so instead of focusing on what annoys us—how many bands can one street corner handle? are we ok with yoga being used as a discriminatory political tool?—we’ve decided to focus on something else.
And that something else is this: alignment with something bigger.
The summer solstice is the day when one of the Earth’s poles leans as much as it can toward the sun (June 21st in the Northern hemisphere, December 21st in the Southern.) Celebrating the solstice is a way to align with Nature and acknowledge our shared responsibility for taking care of her. Even in cities, it’s possible to reconnect with a deep sense of natural world wonder: watching plants stretch toward the light, listening to the blackbird sing his bebop song at dawn, finding the sunniest spot for a citron pressé at your favorite café.
Thank you, Sun
Take full advantage of June 21st to say merci beaucoup to the sun 🌞, tend the flame of your interior solar system and renew your sense of purpose. If those goals seem wayyyyy too lofty for a Wednesday in June, do this instead:
Put on your best fit
Slather on the sunscreen
Take your hot-shit self to the nearest watering hole and drink in life
