Coffee is for Posers: The Yoga Café Trend in Paris
Our picks for the best Paris yoga studios that combine on-the-mat practices with off-the-mat café vibes
If you are anything like me, you like to treat yourself after your yoga practice. Here in Paris, it’s common to chat post-class with your yoga friends and when there’s time, take that conversation to the nearest café.
Back in the day, the café was chosen based on its proximity to the yoga studio, not on the quality of its actual coffee. This often meant that your coffee was not very good (and I’m being generous here) however the drink itself was hardly the point; connection was.
Fortunately things in Paris have evolved to the point where you can now have great conversation and great coffee in one place. Like, literally in the same place! New generation yoga studios now come equipped with baristas, snacks (for omnivores, vegetarians, vegans and gluten-freeans) and places to sit and linger.
Is it a yoga studio? Is it a café? Why can’t it be both?
